. The family lived at Kamouraska (Quebec) in 1761 and at Ekoupac (Meductic) on the St. John River in 1769. Records indicate that some members of the family were living at Madawaska and Kamouraska, in 1792. The St. Basil (New Brunswick) church register, contains no record of Joseph's death, but its records of the marriage of Joseph-Francois' son, Jean-Marie, indicates that Joseph-Francois died prior to Jean-Marie's marriage of August 19, 1805. We do know that Joseph-Francois was the first of nine brothers to die. In view of the fact that his burial is not recorded in St. Basil (there is a gap in those records from July 23, 1803 to December 8, 1804) and, knowing that he died before August 19, 1805, we can safely assume that Joseph-Francois probably died in 1803/1804.
