Charles MELANCON-MELANSON was born about 1642/43 in England. He died before 1695. CHARLES MELANSON, who was said to be of Scottish origin, arrived in Acadia between the years 1654-57. The Port Royal Acadian censusof 1671, indicates CHARLES and wife Marie "Duagast", then had four daughters and owned 40 cattle
and 6 sheep. He was married to Marie DUGAST-DUGAS in 1663 in Port Royal, Acadia.
