The doctor said [to Jessica GOATCHER] I'm afraid his days are numbered. So we had been married for thirty-four years and he had never had a [doctor] examination before. [The examination was therefore in 1955. Seethe note below about this date]. Albion died in the middle of March the next year and he was buried in the churchyard in Wick, , , Eng..

This source, David COLE, concludes from information in her book, that Albion and Jessica spent one last Christmas together after the examination. Jessica writes in her book:
Albion died in the month of March. Harry ELKINS asked Jessica to marry him three months after the death of Albion. Jessica said it was too soon after Albion's death and to wait one year before asking her again. The second Christmas after Albion had died I had to have [my second] operation for a dudenal ulcer. I was in hospital from Christmas Eve untilthe middle of February, and when I came out I found that Harry was illin bed. . . . He [Harry] died in February of 1956.
Analysis of these dates, by David Cole, is as follows:
Presuming that Harry's date of death in February 1956 is accurate.
This means that Jessica went into the hospital in Christmas of 1955 andcame out in February of 1956.
This means that Albion must have died in Christmas of 1953, two years prior.
If we presume that Albion actually died in Christmas of 1955, then Harry must have died in 1958. The two dates cited by Jessica are in contradiction by 2 years.
But closer analysis of the information in Jessica's book, one reads:
p. 91:So by about 1958 all the flats were let. In 1959 one could post aletter. . . p.93:. . . cottages. . . We moved in towards the end of July [i.e. 1959]. . . The village was at Wick, only 8 miles from Bath. This forces one to conclude that Albion died in 1959. Clearly these dates are only approximations written by Jessica GODWIN in her book.
