We have just returned from a weekend away with Viv and Hugo, staying inLavenham (East Anglia) and visiting a cousin.
Her name is Gladys Gibbs and Viv met her last with Mum about 12 year ago but I had never met her. We took lots of old photos and had a great visit, lots tea and chat. She is Uncle Charlie's daughter - your mother's brother's daughter so quite a close relation.
I was wondering if you had ever met her but she didn't seem to know much about your mother and the family in Canada. She lived in Catford until about 25 years ago, her first husband was John Brady and he is buried in Barnet - the grave has three people in it and Nan, Mum and now Viv and I always put a wreath on for her at Christmas. The grave has herhusband John and her brother and a tiny baby - she was never able to have more children and adopted 3 children with her second husband. She was then married a third time and has 5 step grandchildren.
I'm not sure if I've got all the details straight but when I do I'll email them for you and also send some pictures. We took some on Saturdayand we have some of her wedding, when mum and aunty bub were bridesmaids. She was also able to recognise a lot of relations in the wedding photo you sent us once.
