The following email was received by David Cole on or around August 20, 2004.
I was doing some research this morning and found your gedcom. I was looking for information on John Todd, Jr., Dolly Payne's first husband. Atany rate, I wanted to let you know that Dolly Madison would have been my third ancestral cousin. Her line to mine comes down from the Woodsons of Jamestown. Her second great grandfather was Robert Woodson, who was my eighth great grandfather. Robert Woodson was the son of Dr. JohnWoodson of Jamestown and Dorchester, England and his wife, Sarah Winston of Jamestown and Devonshire, England.
The Woodsons might be an interesting family for you to investigate. For example, Thomas Jefferson's uncle John was a Woodson. Do you have any further information about Dolly Paynes first husband? I find it veryinteresting as one of my ancestral grandfathers married a Todd from Lexington, Kentucky, originally from Virginia.
