Headstone reads: JOSEPH BANKS formerly of Chapel Allerton Nr Leeds who departed this life 8th august 1865 aged 93.
Joseph BANKS is brother to the late James Banks of Selby.

In memory of Christopher BANKS son of Joseph BANKS shoemaker of Chapel Allerton who departed this life on Sunday the 16th November 1817 aged 13years and 10 months. Snatched early from thy tender parents love, Soonthou wert call'd to quit a world of pain Nor sigh nor tear the mandatecould remove Or give thee back to cheer their hearts again Affection hung despondent oe'r thy bier But faith directed to the realms of love Praised their hearts, wip'd of the falling tears And bade them strive tojoin their child above.
Also Ann BANKS mother of the above who died October 20th 1835 aged 63 years. Also Joseph BANKS husband and father of the above who died August8th 1863 aged 93 years. And was interred at Hemingborough near Selby.
