In 2007, Web Source http://www.histoire-genealogie.com/article.php3?id_article=882 mentions some of the earliest Acadian settlers. In the early 1600s, Laurent GRANGER and Jacques BOURGEOIS and a marechal were someof the most distinguished men living in Port Royal in the Annapolis Valley in Acadie. Today the Annapolis Valley is in Annapolis county in the southwest of Nova Scotia, Canada. Laurent GRANGER was a sailor (matelot) who had a large farm. Jacques BOURGEOIS was a naval surgeon.
