1588 DEATH: Died in prison having been there since 1580 for recusancy. The Yate family acquired interest in Cowdrey's Manor at Padworth from his wife.
1588 WILL: By a nuncupative will, bequeathed lands in West Hanney to brother Edward for seven years. All else should continue as in his agreement with Francis Tregian upon the marriage between Thomas Yate, his son, and Marie, the eldest daughter of Francis Tregian (see P.R.O., Prob 11/72).
