GILBERT, Sydney Douglas "Doug" - 72, Halifax, died April 10, 2000, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Montreal, he was a son of the late Samuel and Catherine (Heney) Gilbert. He served in Korea with The Royal Canadian Army. Surviving are daughter, Janis Geraldine Patrick; son, Douglas Sydney Jr., Halifax; sister, Margaret Gilbert Goatcher, Whitby, Ont.; brothers, Ian, Toronto; Hamlin, Montreal. He was predeceased by his brothers, William, Franklin, Clifford. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Fort Massey Cemetery.
